Traditionally, reindeer meat is dried by hanging it to air-dry. But we’ve done things our own way—oven-dried and seasoned in true jerky style. The seasoning in this juicy reindeer jerky is the same base sauce we use in our Beef Jerky Original: gluten-free soy sauce, black pepper, garlic, and syrup. And while the reindeer meat is richly seasoned and marinated, it still leaves room for the meat’s own fantastic character to shine. Reindeer has a touch of game flavor, but it’s milder compared to most wild meats! Once dried, the meat turns beautifully dark and looks mouthwateringly delicious.
Our reindeer jerky is made using 100% Finnish reindeer meat—specifically, reindeer roast. The roast contains a hint of fat, which makes the jerky juicier compared to completely lean meat. That said, don’t worry—this jerky isn’t greasy. At least not if you compare it to our Greasy Pork, made from pork shoulder.
Just like our other jerkies, reindeer jerky has an excellent shelf life and doesn’t need refrigeration—even after opening. The best-before date is about one year from the time we dry and pack it here at our meat facility. If you’re buying this as a gift, the lucky recipient can stash it away for a rainy day—if they can resist eating it right away.
Best enjoyed straight from the pouch, thrown right into your mouth—perfect when hiking in the fells or wandering through the forest. Or on the couch, smashing some PlayStation. It also works great in cooking: toss it into soups, stews, pasta, or even on top of a pizza. And if you’re on the road, it’s an awesome way to boost a ready-made meal with extra flavor and protein. But primarily? It’s meant to be enjoyed as a snack, just as it is.
