The transportation industry strike affects the deliveries.

Finnish Transport Workers’ Union AKT has announced a strike in the transportation sector for February 15-21. In addition, the Postal and Logistics Union PAU has announced that it will support AKT’s strike with industrial actions concerning the loading and unloading of trucks and trailers from 16 February to 21 February. The aim of the support measures is to speed up AKT’s collective agreement negotiations.

If an agreement is not reached, the strikes that begin will at least affect Posti’s transport and terminal operations as well as domestic and international deliveries. We apologize for the inconvenience to our customers and the delays caused by the strikes.

Disruptions or delays in deliveries

We estimate that the delivery of parcels, letters and magazines as well as international deliveries to and from Finland will be delayed between a few days to over a week. The same estimate applies to freight.

If deliveries cannot be made due to the strike, they will be taken care of and stored appropriately.

At Posti, we monitor the labor market situation and ongoing negotiations and mediations. Posti is not a negotiation party, and we hope for a quick agreement and an end to the strikes. We will estimate the impact of the strikes on our services daily and will communicate about any possible changes by updating this release. After the strikes are over, we will try to return to normal as quickly as possible.
